Panterix AI Privacy Policy

Panterix AI (“Panterix,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Panterix mobile application and related services (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Panterix App and services. Panterix is designed to help travelers explore the world using artificial intelligence, visual intelligence, curated travel information, and social travel features. Protecting your privacy and giving you control over your information is important to us. By using the Panterix App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create a Panterix account, we collect:
- Email address
- Password chosen by the user during account creation, processed through our authentication provider
- Nickname, meaning the display name you choose
- Home base, meaning a home location or country you optionally provide
- Profile photo, if you choose to upload one
- Email change history, meaning a record of prior email addresses associated with your account, retained for security purposes
Panterix uses Supabase Auth for authentication. Neither Panterix nor Supabase can view your password, and passwords cannot be retrieved from the database. If a password is forgotten, the only option is a secure password reset process.
Biometric Authentication
If you choose to enable Face ID login, your device’s biometric authentication system is used to verify your identity. Panterix does not collect or store biometric data. Face ID processing is handled entirely by your device’s operating system and hardware.
Location Information
Panterix uses location data to provide travel discovery features. When enabled by you, the App may access:
- Precise GPS location from your device
- Location data from device mapping services
Location data is used to:
- Show nearby sites, restaurants, shops, and attractions
- Improve AI identification of monuments, landmarks, or objects by narrowing possible matches based on geographic location
- Provide contextual travel information relevant to your surroundings
Location information used for AI identification is not stored on Panterix servers. However, trip destinations and country visit records you save in the App are stored as part of your account data.
Background Location (Visa Tracker Auto-Tracking)
If you choose to enable the Visa Tracker auto-tracking feature, the App may access your location in the background approximately every six hours. This data is used solely to automatically record which countries you have visited. Background location access is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time through your device settings or within the App.
Camera and Image Data (Visual Intelligence)
Panterix allows you to use your device camera to identify landmarks, monuments, artifacts, restaurants, shops, food, and other objects related to travel. Images may be sent to AI services to identify objects or locations. Images are processed only for identification purposes. Panterix does not store images for training purposes.
AI and Prompt Data
Panterix uses artificial intelligence to provide travel assistance, including monument and landmark identification, restaurant and shop recognition, food identification, and text translation. When you interact with AI features, the following may be processed:
- Text prompts
- Image inputs, including images used for translation
- Contextual information such as approximate location
AI services currently used include OpenAI and Supabase backend services. Future versions of the App may integrate additional AI or computer vision service providers. If new providers are added that process user data, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. AI inputs are processed to generate responses and assist with travel information. Panterix does not use user prompts or images to train AI models.
Travel and Trip Information
Panterix allows you to store and manage travel information. This may include:
- Trip destinations, including city and country
- Trip start and end dates
- Trip type, for example: Vacation, Business, Adventure, or Family
- Transportation and accommodation details
- Personal notes and public comments
- Bucket list destinations
- Country visit records and days spent in each country
- Country notes
You control who can see your trip information through the App’s privacy and audience settings. Some trip fields, such as dates and notes, have individual visibility controls.
Document Reminders
The App allows you to track travel-related documents and set expiry reminders. This may include:
- Document type, for example: passport, visa, travel insurance, driver’s license, or national ID
- Custom label
- Expiry date
- Reminder preferences, including how many days before expiry to notify you
Document reminder data is stored in your account and is not shared with other users or third parties.
Loyalty Program Information
Panterix allows you to store loyalty program details for your reference. This may include:
- Program name, for example: airline or hotel loyalty programs
- Member ID or account number
- Status tier
This information is stored in your account and is not shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than displaying it to you within the App.
Social Features and Shared Information
Panterix includes social travel features that allow you to connect with other users. Depending on your privacy settings, you may choose to share:
- Upcoming trips
- Travel destinations
- Travel notes
- Comments and recommendations
- Notifications about overlapping travel plans
Users control visibility through connection categories and privacy settings. You can also block other users to prevent them from connecting with or messaging you.
Messaging
Panterix includes a direct messaging feature that allows you to send and receive messages with your connections. Message content and conversation history are stored in your account. Messages are visible only to you and the user you are messaging.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and operate the Panterix App
- Enable AI travel assistance and identification features
- Enable text translation features
- Identify locations, objects, and landmarks
- Show nearby travel experiences
- Store and manage your travel information
- Enable connections, messaging, and social travel features
- Send optional notifications you request
- Support document expiry reminders
- Improve the performance and reliability of the App
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
Panterix does not sell your personal data.
3. Push Notifications
Panterix may send push notifications if you choose to enable them. These notifications may include trip reminders, document expiry alerts, notifications when connections have overlapping travel plans, and nearby places of interest. Notifications may be disabled at any time through your device settings.
4. Data Storage and Security
Cloud Storage
Panterix uses Supabase as its backend infrastructure. Data stored in the cloud includes your account profile, trips, connections, messages, bucket list, country records, document reminders, loyalty program information, and privacy settings. Profile photos are stored in Supabase cloud storage.
Local Storage
Certain information is stored locally on your device, including trip caches, feature preferences, country tracking data, and session credentials. Session tokens are stored in your device’s secure storage to protect your login credentials.
Security Practices
User data is protected using industry-standard security practices including:
- AES-256 encryption for stored data
- TLS encryption for data transmitted over the internet
- Secure authentication systems
These protections align with widely recognized security practices and compliance frameworks used by modern cloud infrastructure providers, including SOC 2 compliant infrastructure. While we implement strong security safeguards, no system can guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing
Panterix does not sell or rent personal information. Your information may be processed by service providers that support operation of the App, including:
- Supabase, for cloud database, authentication, and file storage
- OpenAI, for AI-powered identification and translation features, where images and text may be processed
- Resend, for email delivery for one-time-password/OTP codes and security notifications
- Vibecode, for backend infrastructure and proxy services
- Frankfurter, for real-time currency exchange rate data; no personal data is sent
- Proxi, for embedded map display for the Area Explorer feature; no personal data is sent
These providers process data only as necessary to operate the service.
6. Advertising and Featured Listings
The current version of Panterix does not include advertising. Future versions of the App may include featured travel listings, sponsored recommendations, or special offers from businesses. If advertising features are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. Panterix does not use cross-app tracking for advertising purposes.
7. User Privacy Controls
Panterix provides privacy controls allowing you to manage:
- Who can see your trips and individual trip fields
- Who can comment on your travel plans
- Which connections can view your travel information
- Connection categories and audience assignments
- Notification preferences
- Location access, via device settings or in-app
- Camera access, via device settings
- Background location access for auto-tracking, via in-app toggle
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over how your information is used in Panterix. You may:
- Access and update your account information through the App
- Manage privacy settings controlling visibility of your travel activity
- Enable or disable location access through your device settings
- Enable or disable background location tracking within the App
- Enable or disable camera access through your device settings
- Enable or disable push notifications through your device settings
- Block other users through the App

9. Data Retention
Panterix retains account data while your account is active. Information may be retained for limited periods when necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or system integrity.
10. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account through the App’s settings page or by contacting us at info@Panterix.AI. Deleting your account will remove your profile, stored travel information, connections, messages, and social content associated with your account.
11. Children’s Privacy
Panterix is intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16.
12. International Data Processing
Panterix AI is a United States company. The primary Panterix database infrastructure is hosted through Supabase servers located in Zurich, Switzerland. As a result, most user data is processed and stored in Switzerland. Some services used within the Panterix technology stack may process limited data in other jurisdictions depending on their infrastructure.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If significant changes are made, the effective date will be updated and we may, but are not required to, notify users through the App. Periodic review of this Privacy Policy, especially after updates, is the sole obligation and responsibility of the individual user. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
